# Wood pellets

We produce this **sustainable fuel** ourselves from our sawmill by-products obtained in our various plants. When producing **wood pellets** for private use as well as **pellets for industry**, we focus on certified quality, CO2-neutral production as well as on ensuring maximum supply reliability for industry and wholesalers.

## Wood pellet production

			
The raw material for our pellet production is the sawdust and wood chips that accumulate in our own production.

			
The sawmill by-products from our three plants are therefore used to produce a sustainable fuel that makes our private and industrial customers independent of fossil raw materials and contributes to cutting CO2 emissions.

We produce **wood pellets for private use (ENplus A1** and **DINplus-certified**) from clean, untreated waste wood with low ash content and high calorific value, as well as **pellets for industrial use (ENplus, DINplus** and **ISO 17225-6**), which offer a [sustainable alternative](/latest-news/wood-as-sustainable-fuel/) to coal for large-scale applications.

## Supplying trade and industry

Wood & Energy's extensive production capacity and logistical flexibility enable it to reliably supply both the trade and large industrial customers in accordance with their requirements. We offer **pellets as bulk goods or bagged goods on pallets** for wholesalers, specialist retailers and distributors.

We serve large industrial customers, such as energy suppliers, district heating plants and industrial combustion systems, directly as a **producer and supplier**. We offer customised solutions in the fields of logistics, supply chain management and capacity planning.

A key area of activity is **regionally optimised supply** with a focus on **Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands** and **France** in order to ensure short transport routes, stable supply chains and an efficient carbon footprint.

## Pellets from the largest production site in Europe

			
Our fully integrated production processes use CO2-neutral energy in the form of electricity and heat from the biomass cogeneration plant at our site in Vielsalm.

			This plant in Belgium is the largest single location for pellet production in the whole of Europe. By combining **pellet production** and a cogeneration plant, we have succeeded in creating a sustainable and integrated material and energy cycle.

### Certified production for guaranteed quality

Pellets can be collected by silo, tipper or walking floor truck We also have a bagging system for 15 kg containers, which are then stored and distributed on pallets. Our production is certified in accordance with **DINplus and ENplus**, which confirms the highest quality requirements for our customers. Our production capacity is 400,000 t/a, and we produce pellets for domestic use as well as for industrial use.

## Sustainability and RED certification

			
As a certified manufacturer in accordance with RED, we guarantee the traceability, sustainability and efficiency of our products in terms of greenhouse gas emissions, even on an industrial scale.
