What does RED mean for the industry?
The EU's RED II and RED III (Renewable Energy Directive) Directives define binding sustainability standards for the use of renewable forms of energy, especially for large industrial consumers.
The aim is to increase the share of renewable energy in the EU to at least 42.5% by 2030. The use of green energy sources such as biomass in industrial processes must increase by at least 1.6% per year – an ambitious but unequivocal target. Under these conditions, wood pellets offer a realistic, immediately usable solution towards achieving energy transition.
Wood & Energy, your partner for certified pellets for industrial use
As a certified producer of RED-compliant wood pellets, we supply large industrial customers in a wide range of sectors:
- Steel & metal processing
- Cement and lime industry
- Energy suppliers & district heating providers
- Food processing industry
- and many more.
Our pellets serve as a climate-neutral alternative to coal and heating oil, both for process heat generation and for electricity production in biomass power plants. A particularly relevant factor is that rising CO₂ pricing makes switching to certified fuels an attractive economic proposition.
